Gettin' So Big

Carver is changing so much. He is super smart and so much fun. He is very happy and entertains us all. Things going on with him: He got his new Sceleral Shell (like a great big hard contact) for one of his eyes (the one with the detach retina--not growing as fast as the other) this will help with symmetry and proper bone growth. His better eye is stable--meaning he is not losing sight there. We are very happy about this. His new diagnosis is FEVR Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy. So bad news with the new diagnosis is that his condition could get worse as he grows older and it is genetic. Even though he is the first in our family to have it--he could pass it on :( But we will worry about that when we get there. We are going to start Braille with his letters and Preschool this fall. We are so blessed that Carver is happy and healthy.

It was a long night!

This is my excuse for not blogging for a while. Valentines Day Mike and I went skiing on a date. And this was the outcome for me. Very romantic. :) It should be healed all the way soon. Just in time for summer. Can't wait!

We Have a Teenager! Are we that old?

Cole turned 13 January 2nd. Lucky for us we see no signs of any negative stereotype like teenager qualities from Cole. He is an amazingly good kid--I mean young man.

A Wonderful Christmas Eve

Steve and Michelle have come home from Florida and all the Adams kids and grandkids Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Royce were together for Christmas Eve this year.

Carver's First Year

Carver had a rough start at life. Due to a kidney failure doctors told us, when he was eight days old, to prepare for the worst. He battled through that and a number of other health problems that kept him in the hospital for his first two months. We then were told that he would basically be blind due to a rare retinal condition (PFV), but after two eye surgeries he has some vision in one eye. Carver has been a huge blessing to our family--teaching us what is truely important in life. We love our happy, little guy.
